To communicate with our dogs using positive reinforcement, we need some reinforcers! However, reinforcement is a little more complicated than just giving your dog a treat after they do a desired behavior.
In this presentation, we will look at the science of reinforcement and reinforcement systems. A reinforcement system describes the trainer's behavior and the dog’s behavior during reinforcement, and it specifies how these behaviors are connected.

As dogs are increasingly seen as part of the family, we also want to make them happy. At the same time, research shows that dogs are sentient beings with species-specific needs. Modern approaches to animal welfare are not just about preventing harm, but also about providing positive experiences. This webinar will begin by looking at the role of emotions in a dog’s welfare, before sharing scientific research on dogs – and practical tips you can use with your own or clients’ dogs.

This webinar is for everyone who loves their dog, but struggles with feelings of overwhelm when it comes to their care. Together, we explore why life with your dog can feel so overwhelming sometimes, and what we can do to make things feel a little easier.
You will learn emotional and practical strategies that you can use immediately

What is behavior for? How does experience change our behavior, that is, how do we learn? In this presentation, we will take a natural science perspective on learning and behavior to better understand, predict and change where necessary, the behavior of the animals in our care. This talk is designed to expand your understanding of 5 fundamental and inspiring topics: 1) An evolutionary view of learning and behavior; 2) a review of the science of behavior-change called behavior analysis; 3) ABC assessment to better assess behavior in conditions; 4) the errorless learning philosophy and training strategies; 5) the relevance of the least intrusive, effect teaching procedure to address the ethical use of training procedures. This talk is a big picture overview and a perspective-changer, for sure.
